Eastern Shore Social Call: Issue 04
Food Trucks, Coffee Trucks and other Mobile Businesses on the Eastern Shore.
Hey there, I’m Meag. Marketer by day and local business and happenings enthusiast by night. Join me on my journey to find cool things to do and places to go on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
📆 August Save-the-Dates
August 1: Blessing of the Combines in Snow Hill, MD - Perfect if you have equipment obsessed littles!
August 1-8: The Great Pocomoke Fair - Who’s ready for Fair season?!
August 3-7: White Marlin Open - This is on my bucket
August 14-16: Wicomico County Fair
August 29: Ocean City MD Seafood Fest
So there’s this game I like to play with my friends called, “If you could do anything for work and make a living, what would it be?” I love hearing what people dream about doing if money was no issue. Sometimes it’s something unsurprising, like running a winery tasting room, sometimes it’s something fun like furniture flipping. Sometimes it’s a combination of a few things. Regardless of what you’d do, it paints a picture of what you value somewhere deep down inside and that’s a fun thing to know about a person.
For me, I love the idea of having a food truck that serves seasonal fare at events. I’d take my truck to local wineries and breweries and downtown shindigs and people would be so excited to try what’s new on the truck. I love being a part of something that brings people together.
Which brings me to this week’s issue: mobile food and fun on the go on the Eastern Shore. Here are 7 mobile food trucks and businesses you can visit this weekend!
☕️ Coffee & Drinks
1. Morning Darling Coffee
These gals have the right idea - cute coffee trailer, delicious monthly specials, and a widespread coverage schedule. Follow them on Insta and check out the schedule each week to see where you’re getting your next caffeine fix. They also have refreshers that look amazing. Who doesn’t want a bucket of energy?
2. The Grind Coffee Co.
A little further up the shore, this mobile coffee trailer seems to largely serve the Hartly, Dover, Smyrna Delaware areas, but follow them on Facebook for their weekly schedule. Honey nut cheerio latte?! Yes please. They do seem to very popular and run out of inventory before their time block ends so early birds are going to get the worm on this one.
3. Harmony Hill Coffee Co
I’m not seeing a big travel schedule for this coffee truck, however, they are parked on the patio of one of my favorite markets on the shore, The Frozen Farmer in Bridgeville, DE. Their July drink specials include: apple pie macchiato, sweet corn cold brew, and a chocolate chip cookie latte. How on earth are we supposed to pick just one?!
🌮 Food Trucks
4. Squeaky’s
They’re making big claims to having the best crab cake on the shore and I haven’t seen a bad review yet. Check them out on Facebook for their month’s schedule and find them from Crisfield to Princess Anne, Salisbury and special events.
5. Thai Tee
This truck claims authentic Thai cuisine and largely serves Selbyville, Milton, and Lewes Delaware. Follow them on Facebook for their weekly schedule. The drunken noodles sound divine.
6. The Street Kitchen
These guys are well connected! Two full-time food trucks that travel Delaware and Maryland, catering, community events and a physical location at Berlin Beer Co. Not only does the menu look dope but they prioritize farm to table ingredients.
And a Bonus Book mobile!
7. Salty Girl Books
A mobile book boutique serving Maryland and Delaware… and I mean tip to tail. Over the bridge, on the shore. Follow these ladies on Instagram and make plans to stop and see them. They also do a book club that I might have to participate in at some point. How fun.
